Customizable Hand Ranges

by admin on September 14, 2008

In addition to making advanced ICM and game theory (equilibrium) calculations, ICM-Bot 2.0 allows the user to set hand range ‘rules’ depending on the amount of big blinds the user has. This ensures that the user has the final word on what hands the bot should push or call all-ins with on top of the standard EV% edge requirements.

How It Works

The number (%) you put in for ‘Range’ —> ‘Used Percent’ acts as a rule that acts independently of ICM and game theory calculations.

If I put ‘1′ as my number for every BB range, it means that in addition to using the EV% numbers I specified, the bot will ALWAYS push and call with QQ+ (which implies QQ, KK, AA)

This does NOT mean that the bot will ONLY push and call with those hands, it simply means that they always be included with the group of hands that warrant a push or call according to the bot’s calculations.

While not as important as EV%, these numbers give the user the freedom to have the bot push and call with their desired range of hands.

Recommendation

We suggest setting all of them at ‘1′ to begin, and once you get a feel for how the bot plays, you can start to alter the numbers depending on your preferences.
