Two Fundamental Rules For Poker Botters

Types of ‘Botters’

Poker botting is an extraordinarily interesting activity. Much like the game of poker itself, the people who partake in it do so for a variety of reasons. The level of skill involved also varies, certain individuals and operations taking it more seriously than others. Some do it professionally, full-time - running bot ‘farms’ with intricate computer and network setups. Others enjoy the programming aspect of it - a fun hobby to them, win or lose. There are even people who run bots for the rush - even losing bots can seem more thrilling than a roulette wheel or a craps table.

Safety First

No matter what your reason for buying a poker bot is, there are general rules that you should adhere to in order to be able to continue your botting venture without any interruption.

Keep Quiet

Running a successful poker bot is nothing short of exciting. Coupled with this feeling is the (understandable) temptation to tell the world; you may want to post your statistics in a forum, have the urge to say “haha, I’m in the money and you’re not… and it’s just my BOT playing,” tell all of your friends, or even scream “ICM-Bot” from the rooftops… alright, maybe we’re getting carried away here. But the fact remains that you must be careful about what you say and who you say it to when you’re running a bot. The most successful poker botters run very discrete operations, limiting those who know about it to trustworthy programmers and close family. The worst thing to happen would be to have your future ICM-Bot plans hit a roadblock in exchange for some petty bragging rights. Be a wise poker botter!

Cash Out Frequently

Leaving a poker bot’s account with the hoard of money it has accumulated over the days, weeks, months, or years, is perhaps the riskiest thing you can do in the field of botting. Even if you’re playing at the smallest stakes, be sure to never leave more than 100 buy-ins at any game level (enough to handle variance), and cash out at every opportunity (typically after every $50 earned). This will protect you from any unforeseen actions by any poker site. While you will typically receive a lenient warning before any funds are taken, it’s much better to avoid a disaster by making it a habit to constantly withdraw any poker bot earnings.
